Infographics, Exploring Visual Information Design

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

If you havent heard about Infographics where have you been? I have seen more and more of them pop up and tip it to be the next big thing online. If you have been doing design for a while, you would of come accross a scenario where you have to display data in a informative plus creative way and if you are anything like me gone mad in the process. Infographics try to resolve this;

Posters that explain to everyone on the job what management is doing month by month to (for example) purchase better quality of incoming materials from fewer suppliers, better maintenance, or to provide better training, or statistical aids and better supervision to improve quality, not by working harder but by working smarter, would be a totally different story: they would boost morale. People would then understand that the management is taking some responsibility for hangups and defects and is trying to remove obstacles. I have not yet seen any such posters.

Interactive Multimedia

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Having studied an interactive multimedia course at Greenwich university as it was talking off I found myself looking into pieces of software I could put together to produce an imaginative piece of interactive work. I had a great time doing this and found that “design” whether is be in Photoshop or fireworks was at the heart of all forms of multimedia.
I experimented with the following applications and would highly recommend you to have a look into these and I would be interested in seeing how you put these together in an online piece of multimedia.
Multimedia applications
Combustion
Adobe Premiere
Fireworks
Photoshop
3D studio Max and more
Have a look at some of the stuff I have come up with and tell me what you think
